Build to learn, not to scale - NEXT Update #19
By NEXT Amsterdam • Issue #19
At NEXT we have been working on our framework for progress documentation this last week. As experiment loops are an important part of our structure in mentoring startups, this week’s newsletter is all about experiments. There is more to it than talking to your customer, build an MVP and scale from there.
PS: We also started publishing our articles on Medium.

Designing experiments to test and learn in order to make progress in your search for a viable business model, is not always that straightforward. Just remember that scale doesn’t matter a bit, you are building to learn. (until you don’t).
Experiment, experiment, experiment. And not just talking to your customer, you’ll need to test if they will move over to your solution eventually. Great article by Bob Jansen.
Human went back to their customers, what did they ask them and why? Their process for thinking about growing from 1M to 10M users

6 years ago we where part of a small group of entrepreneurs in the Netherlands that was working on something new. We introduced the Lean Startup methodology in the Netherlands and together we shared our knowledge and passion to make it work. Over 5 years we coached startups on a voluntary basis. With our own expertise and business knowledge; Timan in tech and strategy and Esther in UX and strategy, as well as the new Lean Startup methods which we helped evolv over time. Five years and over a 100 startups later we have decided to combine all of our knowledge, experience and passion and start investing in (Dutch) startups.
