When fleshing out a new idea for a product, it doesn’t make sense to spend any time on writing code that is open for extension, fully tested and conforming to the latest coding standards. The goal is to make a proof of concept. This is something that is adressed thouroughly in “Does code need to be perfect” with some very real and recognizable examples.
